STAR TREK 2 BEGAN FILMING TODAY.

Somewhere in the world;

Karl Urban is wearing tight clothes and growling with a southern drawl and a raised eyebrow, ‘DAMMIT JIM/ MAN, I’M A DOCTOR’ and shouting incredulously ‘ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR VULCAN MIND?’ and generally making my tummy fizzle/ wish I was married to Karl Urban

Zachary Quinto is being Zachary Quinto i.e flawless. ‘If you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth’.

Zoe Saldana is prep-ping herself to awe me with further with her incredible ability. For me, hers was the performance to beat in the first film. Uhura came to LIFE. Simply stunning.

Simon Pegg is dusting off his Scottish accent, and (IF THERE IS A GOD) rehearsing the line ‘I CANNAE DAE IT, CAP’TAN!!’

Chris Pine is swaggering about. At least I assume he is; if I were playing the part of a certain Captain Kirk I’d spent all of my time swaggering about. Actually, come to think of it, if I were Chris Pine I would spend all of my time swaggering about.

John Cho is probably sat in his seat, repeatedly pushing the Warp lever down and crying with joy that he GETS TO BE THE GUY THAT TAKES THE ENTERPRISE TO WARP. Again, what I would spend most of my time doing.

Anton Yelchin is running to and fro shouting ‘I CAN DO ZAT, I CAN DO ZAT, I CAN DO ZAT’. Ever since the last film, I’ve never actually said the sentence ‘I can do that’ normally. Dammit, Chekov.

And Michael Giacchino is putting together what I anticipate to be the greatest film score for 2013. If anyone can deliver, it’s that man.

But most importantly; JJ Abrams is using, what some would label an almost questionable amount of, flare to, what I would label, perfection.

GODDAMN, I am excited.

Amy’s Journey Through the Internet (or how a casual glance at your screen can result in losing an hour of your day)

I’ve just spent the best part of an hour browsing the internet, instead of writing the 500 words of my whatever it turns out to be screenplay I had planned to.

SO to make it look like i’ve written something, here is a list, with links, of literally all the things I have been doing/looking at whilst on the interwebs;

- Buzzfeed (always my first port of call. HOMEPAGE HOLLAAAA)
- Listening to Jay-Z ‘s song for his and Beyonce’s bubba, Blue Ivy (it’s quite good)
- Looking up reviews of Series One of Misfits on SFX magazine, failing to find any and then getting distracted by more Cast revelations from the new Star Trek Film (NOEL CLARKE??? AAAWWWWWW YEEEAAAAH always nice to see someone from the Doctor Who family making it big[ger]
- Looking at the Nathan and Kelly Tumblr (it’s cute)
- Watching a funny and cute interview between the (old) Misfits Cast and Jonathon Ross
- Searching SFX and Empire for any more info on the new Star Trek Film, and failing. Dammit JJ, WHY ALL THE SECRETS (i love them really i live for not knowing what the H is going to happen when i watch your stuff for the first time like Fringe and Cloverfield and Star Trek and i can’t wait for Alcatraz OMG OMG OMG
- Writing a blog where I quote Bridget Jones’s Diary for no particular reason other than I went to the loo and saw the book in there and thought I’d quote it because it’s funny LOL. I learnt yesterday that ‘Blog’ is born from the term ‘Web Log’. FACT. I’m probably the only person on the internet who didn’t know that before, right? Right.
- Checked Youtube because I haven’t for a while, and saw that a lot of people I subscribed to had uploaded A LOT of things, including this, this and this.
- I watched ‘Alex and Liam do Walmart’ again, because it is just brilliant.
- I found and saved a hilarious picture of a sheep jumping and posted it to my blog and as I saved it I saw out of the corner of my eye, my picture folder labelled ‘Guy Candy’. On the front was this guy
- Then I watched this video and giggled a lot
- Then I watched THIS video and giggled a lot
- Then I watched THIS VIDEO, giggled even more, and caught a glimpse of the clock and saw over an hour had passed.

And there is a typical Amy journey through the internet.

AHA actually, not typical at all; there were no cats in this search. and that really IS weird.

JJ Abrams would approve of the flare

I like to imagine I work on the Enterprise. When I imagine it, Dr Leonard McCoy is my boss.
